presenting all design movements of the 20th
Century.
For the twentieth
consecutive year, the Woman's Board of the Winnetka
Community House will present the Midwest's annual
Modernism Show with top quality examples of Art Nouveau,
Arts and Crafts, Prairie School, Art Deco, Art Moderne,
Mid-Century and other 20th Century design movements.
Furniture, paintings, prints, jewelry, metalwork,
pottery, textiles and clothing and other decorative arts
from these important periods of design will be offered
for sale by dealers from across the United States and
Europe. All events take place at the historic Winnetka
Community House, a not-for-profit recreational,
educational, and cultural arts facility serving the
North Shore of Chicago.
The 20th Annual Modernism Show quickly
approaching we wanted to bring you some highlights of this
year's events being held on November 7 - 8. This year's show
pays tribute to its 20th anniversary with nearly 40
outstanding and knowledgeable dealers from across North
America who will be offering their first-rate collections.
Dealers are selected on an invitational basis, ensuring the
quality of items available for purchase.

The Biltmore Lake Art and Craft Festival is an annual juried show.
The artists display and sell artwork in the areas of ceramics, jewelry,

The 35th Annual Philadelphia Museum of Art Craft
Show, a juried exhibition and retail sale, will be held
at the Pennsylvania Convention Center from November 10
to 13, 2011, with a preview party on November 9. The
jury will accept 195 craft artists.
The show serves as the Museum's largest yearly
fundraising event and is devoted to bringing wide public
attention to the field of craft art. Cumulative 33-year
contribution: $9.2 million. Funds raised are used to
purchase works of art and craft for the permanent
collections of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, to
support exhibitions and education programs and to
contribute to conservation and publication projects. At
the 2010 show, 18,686 visitors attended.

Eligibility
The Show is open to all craft artists who are residents
of and working in the United States. All work, whether
one of a kind pieces or limited editions, should be well
conceived and expertly executed without technical
faults; works should be made by hand or with the use of
appropriate tools, showing imagination and the mark of
the craft artist's individuality. The categories are
basketry, ceramics, fiber, furniture (includes all
media), glass, jewelry, leather, metal, mixed media,
handmade paper, wearables and wood. Categories not
included: calligraphy, fine arts such as painting,
photography, lithography, etc., except when incorporated
into an otherwise acceptable craft category; candles;
dried flower arrangements; pressed flowers; seed and pod
decorations; mass produced work; commercially made
objects which have been embellished such as bottles,
boxes, bowls, eggs, weather boards, stones, shells,
buttons, decorated furniture and handmade reproductions.
Objects made from commercial kits or commercially
available plans are also not acceptable.
