MEXICAN & PERUVIAN
VINTAGE SIGI PIN
Vintage SIGI pin: This is part of Sigi Pineda's fish series, and it would be a mighty fine catch for a Sigi collector. The pin is 2 5/16" x 1 3/16" and it's about 1/4" deep. I tried to capture the three-dimensional aspect of this piece, with limited success; sigh. It's in very good condition, with the usual faint surface scratches. There's quite a collection of stamps, including the design number, 360; please take a look at the picture.
Buyer pays $6 shipping, handling, and insurance, to the US only. If you live abroad, please contact me re shipping, as I will not send anything uninsured and the insured services are quite costly and not available for all locations.
VINTAGE SUN CALENDAR PIN WITH AMETHYSTS; TAXCO
The design of this beautiful vintage sterling and amethyst pin is a detail taken from the Aztec sun calendar. It's one of the loveliest versions I've ever seen. The amethysts have a warm glow and the sterling has that gleam you only see in older pieces. It's marked STERLING and TAXCO. It's 2 3/8" across, including the small stones. The center amethyst is about 7/16" in diameter and rises about 3/16" above the bevel. The border stones are 3/16" in diameter. The pin in back is straight and strong, and the safety catch is in good working order. Enjoy . . .Price: $95.00
Shipping, handling, and insurance will be an additional $6; please note that that applies only to addresses in the United States. If you’re interested in this piece and live overseas, please contact me. I will not ship abroad without insurance, which would add quite a bit to the price and is not available for some countries. The best option would be for me to ship it to a friend of yours here in the States, who could forward it via the inexpensive (and lamentably uninsured) First Class International service. Please use a personal check or PayPal for payment. I do prefer a check, to avoid the PayPal fee, but it will have to clear before I ship. Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoyed the view.
PAL KEPENYES RING WITH AZURITE STONE - BRUTALIST
Pal Kepenyes silver ring with what looks like a large dark-blue azurite stone with tan-brown matrix. This ring is a size 7-1/2" and the top measures 1-1/2" high by up to 1-1/4" wide. The back of the shank is marked: "KEPENYES" twice. Excellent condition.
GRAZIELLA LAFFI STERLING & ENAMEL RING
This delightful ring was created by Graziella Laffi, an
Italian silversmith who went to Peru in the 1950s and became
"the Spratling of Peru," embracing the artistic traditions
she found there and incorporating the designs into her
jewelry. The bird is a small sculpture that sits on an
enameled field; at first glance, I thought it was a piece of
lapis or sodalite. Laffi is known for her pelicans; this
looks more like a toucan to me . . . It's about 1/2" at its
highest and widest points, and is 1/8" thick from the back
to the top of the eyeball; the rest of the body is about
3/32" thick. The enameled background piece is 1 1/8" x 3/4".
As you can see, the band (which is 3/16" wide and almost
1/16" thick) is open at the back. It's currently a size 6.5.
There are two short, shallow scratches in the enamel at the
bottom, which are visible if you hold it at the right angle
in the light, and the usual tiny marks on the silver.
Overall, this ring is in great condition. Enjoy!

ERIKA HULT DE CORRAL STERLING EARRINGS
Renowned designer ERIKA HULT DE
CORRAL, also known
as "Ric," created these stunning earrings. The design is a
cross between modernist and ancient Mexican and she somehow
achieved a perfect blend of the two. The surface of the
inner spiral is slightly higher than the rest of the
earring, giving it a sculptural feel that reminds me of art
deco bas reliefs; it also gives the light an extra place to
rest and reflect. Wonderful.
The earrings are 15/16" wide, 7/8" high, and approximately 3/16" deep. They're equipped with straight, strong posts and are in great condition overall. The marks are Ric, TR-26 on one earring and MEXICO 925 on the other, which dates the pair to having been made since 1980, according to Bille Hougart's The Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks. Thanks for looking, and I hope you enjoyed the view.
Buyer pays $6 shipping,
handling, and insurance. Please use either PayPal or a
personal check. If you use a check, it will have to clear
before the earrings are shipped.

VINTAGE MID 20TH CENTURY MEXICAN STERLING & ENAMEL PIN
A stunning example of some of the wonderful sterling and enamel work done during the mid-century period. On the fashion walkways for fall I am seeing a lot of black paired with intense blues, reds and greens. This piece fits right in with that theme. It's very versatile. It's small enough that it could be worn as a lapel or hat pin, maybe even a scarf pin. It is 1 1/4" by 1" and is marked Sterling and 925, Mexico and has the Eagle #3 stamp and there is a hallmark of JF conjoined. There is a reference to this mark in Bille Hougart's book on the Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks. He also said that this mark is an older version of the mark the silversmith now uses.
