This auction showcases 19th and 20th century furniture,
decorative arts and paintings reflecting the opulence of the
Belle Epoque. Featured offerings include art glass by Gallé,
Daum, Loetz, Le Verre Français, Lalique, Steuben and Quezal;
porcelain by Amphora, Mintons, Sèvres and Villeroy & Boch;
silver by Georg Jensen, Gorham, Reed & Barton, Tiffany & Co.
and Whiting; bronzes by Barye, Miolin, Auguste Moreau,
Omerth and Charles-Georges Ferville-Suan; and a selection of
mirrors, clocks, marble sculptures, sconces, chandeliers,
majolica, rugs and paintings. Among the highlights are a
pair of Empire style gilt and patinated-bronze and white
marble brûle parfums by Henry Dasson dated 1884 and an
impressive pair of Louis XVI style gilt-bronze and rouge
marble jardiniere stands. Notable furniture includes a pair
of Neoclassical style painted and parcel gilt malachite top
consoles; a Louis XVI style gilt-bronze mounted marquetry
inlaid kingwood marble top commode signed Schmit, Paris; and
two Aesthetic Movement faux bamboo beds attributed to R.J.
Horner. The selection of American art glass features a
graceful jack in the pulpit vase by the Quezal glassworks.
Tiffany Studios is represented by favrile glass and bronze
photograph frames, pottery and various desk accessories. The
silver section features two notable Aesthetic Movement
examples decorated in the Japanesque style with naturalistic
aquatic motifs – one a Whiting Manufacturing Co. silver and
